St. Francis Preschool

Where love and learning go hand in hand!

In a caring and positive atmosphere, we create a warm and happy place for preschool children to learn. We offer developmentally appropriate activities that will help prepare your children for academic success.

Our program emphasizes "faith development in our children," helping them to build trust, hope, creativity, and joyful hearts. As a Christian church, we place Jesus Christ at the center of all we do.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to help children be excited about learning and to learn through developmentally appropriate activities. We provide activities that help prepare them for academic success. Our three-year-old classes receive a written evaluation in mid-January, and our four-year-old classes have parent/teacher conferences at the end of January with an evaluation of their child: emotionally, socially, and academically. They will discuss their upcoming Kindergarten year.

  • 2 YEAR OLDS

Our two-year-old classroom experience involves learning to enjoy “happy times” away from their parents and positive self-help skills as well as positive self esteem. Through play and creative art activities, they are developing their fine motor skills while using their imagination.

Skills covered on a daily basis: social, fine motor, large motor, language development. Learning and developing all of these skills is the developmentally appropriate way for two-year-old children to prepare the path for reading, writing, and learning phonics.

Monthly activities: Library Lady, Music Lady, Chapel Chat, ABC Yoga for Kids

  • 3 YEAR OLDS

Our three-year-old classes build on what has begun during their two year experience. The year begins with a review of colors, shapes, and position words, while moving into more Kindergarten readiness skills that are developmentally appropriate for this age.

Skills covered on a daily basis: letter of the week using Alpha Time Stories, social and interactive skills through games, art activities, puzzles, etc. Working on these skills is a developmentally appropriate step toward developing their reading, writing, and phonetic skills.

Monthly activities: Library Lady, Music Lady, Chapel Chat, ABC Yoga for Kids

  • 4 YEAR OLDS

The four-year-old classes use “Letter People” as their literacy curriculum which gets children moving, interacting, experimenting, drawing, counting, and ultimately reading and writing. And we incorporate some aspects of “Handwriting Without Tears.” These are researched-based, developmentally appropriate Pre-K literacy curriculums.

Skills covered on a daily basis: Numbers, patterns, letters, sequencing, phonics, cutting, painting, writing, following directions & learning daily routines, social, large motor, creativity, individuality, confidence.

Monthly activities: Library Lady, Music Lady, Chapel Chat, ABC Yoga for Kids
