St. Francis United Methodist Church

A Great Church to Be

Who We Are

St. Francis UMC is an authentic congregation whose foundation is built on grace, mercy, and love.  Our love for Jesus Christ is evident as we live out our faith with each other, the community, and the world.  What shaped us in our past is now helping us strengthen our foundation for the future.

Mission

To be faithful to Jesus in this time and place.

Vision

  • We strive to be a reflection of the love and grace of Jesus Christ in our church, the Charlotte community, and beyond.

  • We strive to be welcoming, caring, encouraging, and accepting of ALL people; so that in our congregation you can Be your authentic self… just as you are.

  • We strive to be engaged in study, service, education, worship, missions, and prayer.

  • We strive to share the Good News of Jesus Christ through our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness; so that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is offered to each other, the community, and the world.

Who Are United Methodists?

The United Methodist Church is a global denomination that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world.

Mission

To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Vision

The United Methodist Church forms disciples of Jesus Christ who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, love boldlyserve joyfully, and lead courageously in local communities and worldwide connections.

A United Methodist is someone who joins in that mission and vision by putting faith and love into action. We believe that God loves all people and that we share in expressing that love. So the United Methodist tradition emphasizes God's grace and in serving others. We believe that Jesus Christ is the fullest expression of God's love--showing us the fullness of God's care through Jesus' teachings, death, and resurrection.

United Methodist preaching and teaching are grounded in Scripture, informed by Christian tradition, enlivened by personal experience, and tested by reason.
